heresy noun
a. (the act of having) an opinion or belief that is the opposite of or against what is the official or popular opinion, or an action that shows that you have no respect for the official opinion

As you can see. Heresy is simply thinking outside of the box. A heretic is the one who thinks in contrast to the majority. How many great people can you think of that went along with the conventional doctrine of the time? I personally can not think of a single one. Heresy does not mean that you are wrong. Heresy simply means you think differently than the pack or heard or flock. In psychological terms these people are called outliers. Jesus was such a heretic and outlier of the established orthodox religious authorities of his time that they had him killed. Was the heretic wrong in this case? The obvious answer is no.
The purpose of this blog will be to introduce some heretical thinking into the minds of those with eyes to see and ears to hear. Maybe I will find that I am more orthodox than I think. Maybe I will find I am more of a heretic than I thought. I have come to find peace in being a heretic. It was not always this way, but over time I have gained confidence and peace as I see some of the heretical ideas I held long ago become mainstream and openly talked about.
So, If you have always felt a little on the outskirts of normal, you have found a place of refuge and refueling. Do right and be right. Don’t be a dick. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Love God first, and love your neighbor as yourself. Everything else works out the way it should.
You are not God, but you are the God of your will. Take that and chew on it.
With love,
Happy Heretic.
